# Sharp

> Sharp is an iPhone app of sixteen quick games for mental math, memory, focus and puzzles. You can lock the apps you lose time to, such as TikTok or Instagram; open one, and Sharp asks for a few minutes of games first, then the app is yours for the rest of the day. Free to download. All sixteen games are free for 15 days, then $2.99 a month. No account, no ads.

## What Sharp does

- Lock apps: pick the apps you lose time to. They open once you've played: one game, all of today's, or on the free plan, today's 3-minute challenge. It uses Apple's Screen Time, so Sharp can't see which apps you picked. It's optional.
- Skips: three a week, each opening your apps for 10 minutes. Turn skips off and the lock stays on until you've played. Calls and Messages never lock.
- Today's plan: one tap starts it, from 5 to 30 minutes. Each game gets harder as you improve, aiming for you to be right most of the time.
- Progress: each game's own numbers (seconds a card, squares held, sums a minute) and a Sharp Score every Monday.
- Friends: send a challenge as a link. Your friend plays the same puzzles free, later or in the same room. No account needed.
- Bots: every kind of game has its own mountain with a bot at each stop to race on the same puzzles.
- Tack: a small blue thumbtack, the app's mascot, whose colour and look you can pick.

## What Sharp claims, and doesn't

Sharp is practice: you get better at the games you play, and research shows gains reach similar tasks. Sharp does not claim to make you smarter in general, improve everyday memory, intelligence or health, or carry over to unrelated skills, because the research doesn't show that. The home page lists the studies with sources.

## Privacy

Sharp collects no data. No account, no ads, no tracking, no servers. What you play stays on your iPhone, and in your own iCloud if sync is on.
